IP4FVG Method

Objectives and basic principles

The Industry Platform 4 FVG aims to create a territorial ecosystem to support digital transformation on a regional scale that can provide companies, especially those in areas of S3 specialisation, with access to tools and services for:

  • Guidance on digitisation
  • planning development actions and activating collaboration with regional, national and international expertise/li>
  • Carrying out pilot initiatives to promote digital transformation.
  • The founding principles of the Industry Platform FVG are based on a deep cooperation between the existing territorial systems and the excellent skills present in the regional territory.

The objectives of the initiative on a regional scale are, on one hand, to encourage the adoption of technologies that enable digital transformation in industrial manufacturing processes and, on the other hand, to promote the technological updating of the many operators in the IT sector in the area (software houses, system integrators, technology developers).
The initiative is mainly oriented towards the growth of SMEs but involves both industrial and IT lead players.

    The structure

IP4FVG is articulated around 4 territorial nodes and a Control Room/Managing Authority.

The areas of specialisation related to the enabling technologies of Industry 4.0 of each Node are:

  • Advanced Manufacturing Solutions in the Pordenone Node,
  • Big Data Integration & Analysis in the Udine Node,
  • Internet of Things in the Tolmezzo Node,
  • Data Optimisation & Simulation in the Trieste Node.

Coordination

The operational plans of the Nodes are structured according to specific thematic specialisations and in accordance with a common matrix of activities. The activities envisaged for each of the IP4FVG Nodes can be grouped into 6 main areas of activity, all aimed at companies in both the ICT and manufacturing sectors: Awareness and Dissemination, Industrial Upgrade itineraries, Demonstration and Living Lab, Industrial Support Services and Business Creation Support. In addition to these activities, there is also support for advanced training courses, currently not included in the operational plan but planned in synergy with other areas of initiative of the ARGO System. Each area of activity envisages the cooperation of different partners of the Node and the involvement of specialists and contacts outside the Node where appropriate.

The annual operational plans of the Nodes are coordinated at a regional platform level in an integrated operational plan that ensures the complementarity of the investments made and of the services offered to companies in the relevant territorial system.
